A fall-ish kind of weekend

Thursday.

It all started with a trip to the hospital.

Yep.

The Dude was in Houston of all places, he never goes to Houston, when his Little counterpart decided to have an attack of “asthmatic symptoms”. Basically the poor guy couldn’t catch his breath. The ped recommended we check in to the most expensive hotel in town for the night just to keep an eye on him. Thankfully, he was okay and we went home early the next day. Let me send a quick shout out to all those who made this adventure possible, my dear family E and L who moved to Kansas for the sole purpose of rescuing me from disasters (oh, that’s not why you moved here? Oops.), and my amazing friend who kindly experienced all of the Little Dude’s symptoms when she was a child so that she could help me out emotionally and pragmatically. Thank you Meg. Seriously. Along with a host of other friends who rearranged schedules and checked of my to-do list so my jam-packed life didn’t have to come to a screeching halt. You know who you are.

Friday.

A day at home. This is unheard of for me. I am an escape artist. Able to wrangle out of the messiest of circumstances in my home to experience the freedom of life outside of laundry, dishes, sweeping, and bed making.

But a night in the hospital must be chased by a day at home. So we crafted cute button pumpkins and baked blueberry muffins. Snuggled and watched movies and ate pizza. All good things.

Time to get out. We hit the pumpkin patch with friends and family.

Sunday.

A sweet time with our church family at church and studying Romans in small group over yummy chili.

Oh, and he feels better :)
